5. Learning to play the D7th as a substitute chord Introducing the concept of the substitute chord to create a new arrangement of a familiar song
6. Learning the full C major chord Introducing the full version of a familiar chord using three fingers
7. Learning the "barre" and the little finger exercise Preparing the student to form more complex chords by exercising the little finger
8. Learning to tune the guitar Introducing guitar tuning concepts to enable the student to keep the instrument in tune
9. Ear training exercises Introducing a class activity designed to increase the students critical listening skills
10. Learning additional songs Increasing the student's repertoire by introducing new songs for at-home practice
