Reading the Tablature
The horizontal lines represent the six strings with the high E (1st) string at the top.
The numbers on the lines will tell you which frets to put your fingers.
The number in the boxes are notes fretted by the slide bar.
Hammer On
Play the whole chord (2nd, 3rd, and 4th strings) as you hammer on the 2nd string at the 5th fret. |
|
| You may repeat the process on the 1st and the 3rd strings. Try a hammer using your middle finger (2) on the 3rd string at the 6th fret. |
The string will rise up to the slide bar sounding the note at the 7th fret.
This is not a "pull off" in the traditional sense. You will not pull off the string with the fingers of your left hand. |
Pull Off
![]()
I call it a pull off just to give it a name. I suppose one could call it a reverse hammer because that is essentially what is happening. As you may suspect you can "pull off" any note on any string "behind the bar" with any number of fingers! |
| When you are comfortable with these moves, try hammering and pulling off using rapid finger motions. |
