KingPup Radio Show
Station Affiliate Information
The KingPup Radio Show is a showcase for America's finest local and regional
traditional Country Music artists hosted by veteran radio hosts
Phil & Gaye Johnson of Tryon, NC.
.
KingPup continues the tradition of local radio shows that flourished
throughout rural America during the 20's 30's and 40's. These regional programs were
smaller versions of the national "barn dance" type programs. They were the life blood
of Country music during this time and always presented the very best of local/regional
"Hillbilly" artists, many of whom used their popularity on these smaller programs to
launch successful professional entertainment careers.
.
Musicians of the time would broadcast a live daily 15 minute musical program on a
local station, and advertise their wares and local concert dates. As recording
technology improved many of these 15 minute local programs were recorded
on lacquer or metal disks as "radio transcriptions" and sent to radio stations
across the country for later re-broadcast.
.
We offer The KingPup Radio Show as a modern day version of the local "opry style"
radio program / transcriptions.
We digitally record live performances and distribute them as a full barter offering
to our radio
affiliate stations throughout the world on CD masters.
.
The programs are offered in a
30 minute format
designed to air weekly as a stand alone offering
.
or

.

Bring KingPup to your town
"Paragon Media Strategies
(http://www.paragonmediastrategies.com/) have released a study
that confirms the notion that successful local radio is driven by community involvement.
The study also indicates the strength of locally-programmed radio in light of new national
competition from satellite and Internet-delivered radio.
Paragon recently surveyed 405
respondents ages 15 to 64 (43% male/57% female) who listen to the radio to explore radio
listeners preferences for radio station involvement in their communities. 3 of 4 radio
listeners feel it is important that the radio station they listen to have a presence in
their community."
We hope that you consider working with your local music community to bring
The KingPup Radio Show to your town. It is easier than you might think.
We are constantly amazed at the breadth of good regional artists in need of radio
